As someone developing Silverlight games, I'm very intereseted in Silveright gaining an install base.

Until now, it's been pretty difficult to get a good feel for just how large (or small) this Silverlight install-base is.

Recently, I came accross the following site: RIAStats.com

This site allows website owners to install a small chunk of java script that will record what RIA Plug-in visting users have installed. The site then gathers this data and presents it in two very easy to understand formats.

As I write this, RIAStats.com is tracking about 25000+ websites and is showing Silverlight 2.0 to be around 15%. Not bad considering it's still in beta.

New Farseer Physics Engine Release for Silverlight 2.0 Beta 1 For those that don't like to read, you can get the new version of the Farseer Physics Engine h...Silverlight 2 Turns 6 . . . % that is. One of my dreams is to have all the flash game portals out on the internets, Kongregate, Addicting...Miniclip Pushing Silverlight Games. Who will follow ? Miniclip recently sent out a press release announcing support for Silverlight games on their site....

hmm, imo that is actually pretty bad. Silverlight 1.0/2.0 is less than 25% on XP, and it isn't in beta. That also implies half the people didn't bother upgrading.

Also MacOSX users are at 16% where XP is 11%, what is up with that? I don't know, but is seems to me we have another vrml. When will people learn that xml makes for a lousy graphics file format (well I guess people learned that a while back, when will companies learn I mean : ).

We'll just have to wait and see, but I think it's going to be trending updward for a while yet.

MS has a lot of money and avenues they can take to get Silverlight on everyone's computer.

They should include it into an Update for Windows...

I was hoping this new post was about Diver I guess ill just wait then... Anything new about a release date for new version?

I just finished creating the last level for Diver this morning. Just need to dot some I's and cross some T's..

I'm currently deciding how I want to do the beta release...

I mean I need to decide if I want to do a limited beta for a smaller group 1st, then a more public beta or just jump to a public beta... that kind of stuff.

I'm also planning to run it by some portal sites and see if I can get any type of sponsorship for the game. It'd be nice to make some $$ for the time I put into it.

Ah, i gotcha now... I havent reall seen too many Portal Sites that support SilverLight atm but good luck (Miniclip is one of the few)

If you need a small group im sure there'd be loads of Volunteers at Fun-Motion that would love to try out the Beta

Howdy. I made RIAStats.com

I should point out that RIAStats has about 35k "unique site browsers". Not websites. A "site-browser" is one browser on one website. Because I didn't want to get into cross site browser tracking hacks (and the privacy issues that follow), I made RIAStats just keep track of a single user on a single site.

The NBC Olympics site surely helped a lot. Their video streamer was run on Silverlight.
